actually no. not a lot of people speaks like that - but saying boom in a sentence is a very smart way of telling a big process with really big results - example - Zuckerberg went to college, got drunk one night and boom! started his first social networking site. so when you say "boom" you actually just explained the person the whole smart "process" of something creative in a very creative way.
I'm sure you'll get a shocking response. But no that's not really "weird". Weird would be having a conversation with someone and then randomly start to pick your nose and eat the bugers. That's weird and gross.
