Is it safe to drink from water fountains with mold?!

Question: Is it safe to drink from water fountains with mold?
I drink from water fountains at my university consistently throughout the day while passing between classes. However most of them have coatings of green, white and black mold around the, I assume steel, nozzle/fountain head. I am wondering if the effects from the mold may be damaging to my health and the other students who drink from these fountains.

Answers:

That is pretty nasty. Are you sure its actually mold? It might just be calcification of the water fixture. That means it needs to be replaced. I have a hard time drinking water that isn't see through clear. I certainly wouldn't drink from a fountain that looked like it was growing mold around it. That is actually something I would complain about. If it is mold it could be a health hazzard. Most molds just cause allergies. But some can be very dangerous, even fatal. Maybe just carry around you're own water bottle.

No ! It is NOT Safe..Ewww! The United States Environmental Protection Agency should be contacted, since they urge all fountains to be properly maintained and cleaned to prevent mold spore contamination.

Absolutely not don't even think of drinking it it could make you very sick I know I can't be around mold and some people can die if they are allergicc to mold of any type
