Can I go to the emergency room without my physical insurance card?!

Question: Can I go to the emergency room without my physical insurance card?
I need to go get my ankle checked out, and I have insurance, but have recently moved and have no idea where the actual card is..

What would I need to just go to the emergency room tomorrow?
Would they look up the information?
Can I just walk in with my card number and other information, but not the card?

Any help would be awesome!

Calling the hospital you plan to go to the emergency room of would be the best thing for you to do i think.
Ask them :)

While I'm not in the US - I would think that you would have to find your card first. This is because you're NOT going to die from your sprained ankle.

Generally, even here in Canada, if you do not have your card, and you are not dying, they tell you to go get your card and come back.

Yes you can jsut bring all your info that you have with you and tell them everything you said here and you can always give them the info and proof when you get it.Best wishes with the ankle. xoxo
