Can marijuana use trigger on going anxiety?!

Question: Can marijuana use trigger on going anxiety?
I used marijuana for the second time two summers ago and it was horrible. It made me never want to use it again. I had this horrible anxious feeling, and a panic attack. Since then I've felt that same feeling even though I'm not high on pot. So is it possible that marijuana use can trigger permanent anxiety issues?

Answers:

Marijuana has no permanent, lasting effects on the body; certainly none after only two uses. You just had a bad trip and maybe the memories of that cause you to feel a little anxious, sort of like a Pavlovian response. It's nothing physiological though, so I wouldn't worry. You could try using it again, and hopefully if you enjoy it you would no longer have that association with the anxious feelings, Make sure you go into it with a calm state of mind, and preferably in a place and with people you are comfortable with. Watch a funny movie, you'll likely enjoy your high...or perhaps weed isn't for you. Everyone reacts to it differently (although usually it's a pleasant experience). It's your call what to do.

You were using pot to escape the underlying emotional problems that you were too weak to face. Therefore, when your high slowly ended you were faced with the burden of using an illegal drug AND the original anxiety. Now that you are aware of the anxiety you faced, you feel it regularly. So in a sense, yes, it triggered it, but the anxiety was already there before the substance abuse started.

I wouldn't think so... Maybe you were anxious or something when you took it and because of that ever since then you've been like that but I would think it should have the exact opposite effect. Maybe you wernt in a controlled enviroment if you ever do it again, try it in a spot that you can be calm and relax with no worry of getting caught. It's supposed to make you more chill not more anxious. If anything just tell a doctor that you seem to have anxiety and they'll probably give you a medication to help for it (just DONT tell them you did weed lol)
good luck
