is staying up late till 2 or 3 ever night considered insomnia?!

Question: Is staying up late till 2 or 3 ever night considered insomnia?
ever night i always stay up till like 2 or 3, sometimes 4, i just don't get tired till then. i am also a really light sleeper, the littlest things wake me up and annoy me like ringing phones, trucks and cars outside, people talking and birds.

Maybe. Then of course your body could just have adjusted away from what is "normal". Time (2-4am) doesn't mean anything if the body is used to being awake at that time. My school schedule changes every 10 weeks, and for the last one I stayed up till 2 and woke at 10, and when I had a week off before my new schedule I took sleeping pills and ate food the promotes sleepiness to help me fall asleep at 11 so I can wake at 7. Now because my body has been waking at 7 for the past 8 weeks I don't need an alarm, its just programmed its self to wake up them and be tired at around 11.

Does that make sense? Your body is used to being up at 2 or 3, just because you or others say it should be asleep doesn't mean anything. You'll just have to work (and really, its work!) to adjust your body's sleeping time.

Good luck!

"Insomnia is a sleep disorder that is characterized by difficulty falling and/or staying asleep. People with insomnia have one or more of the following symptoms:

Difficulty falling asleep
Waking up often during the night and having trouble going back to sleep
Waking up too early in the morning
Feeling tired upon waking"

As you can see there are several reasons for insomnia.
And it is similar to Alchoholism in that you dont have to have insomnia every night, and an alchoholic doesn't have to drink every day.

If you think you have it definately see a Dr.
