HELP~ I think my doctor and physical therapist have ripped me off!?!

Question: HELP~ I think my doctor and physical therapist have ripped me off!?
ok so i went to an orthpedic surgeon for my inward facing knee cap and pain in my left knee, who diagnosed me with femoral anteversion and sent me to pt. well i went to the pt 4 times (@ $50 each time in co-pay) who made me do quad excersises which have done nothing. My knee has been in for 5 months, and it is getting worse and more painful. everything i have read on femoral anteversion has said that PT is NOT helpful, after all, how can strengthening a muscle derotate a bone as big as the femur? so i have spent $250 on worthlessness! im 13 and not overweight, and 5' 1". my mom said she is going to schedule ANOTHER appointment with the pt so they can actually see what he is doing. after the last appointment he didn't tell me to come back, only gave me 4 excersises, and only looked at my leg THE FIRST APPOINTMENT! is he ripping me off? From what i have read, surgery is the only way to fix femoral anteversion... HELP!

Answers:

Sounds like you are getting ripped off.

Why doesn't you mom just have the sense to take you to a different Dr. You should always get a second openion on any serious issue.

Especially if the first Dr. Seems wrong.

I'm sorry you lost your money. All the more reason to switch as soon as possible.

If the leg is growing crooked (the knee hinge not in line with the ankle hinge) the standard treatment is a complicated brace thing that torques the shoe into line. I don't think it would be effective at age 13, when the bones are pretty well formed.

I think so too..

ouch how did he rip you off what body part?
