Why does my body lock up in bed.?!

Question: Why does my body lock up in bed.?
last night was the second time it has happened. The first time was a lot worse and the noise was worse, but I either thought it was some demon or sleep paralysis..but it didn't make sense even then. Last night I was laying in the same position as the first time, which was on my left side with my hands down. The thing was I was still awake and I was thinking about stuff and I was just about to roll on my back when I felt my whole left arm go completely numb. My first reaction was that I cut the blood flow so I tried to move and just couldn't. Whene we I tired to move it made this like cranking/zapping sound loud in my right ear. That happened the first time but the sound was louder and creepier. This time though I was pissed and tried so hard to get out of it! Even my jaw was locked and so I started with opening that and it was sooo hard. My mouth was shaking really bad from trying to force it open, but I got it, and just doing that made the rest of my body easier to move.

So why does that happen!? It couldn't have been sleep paralysis, because I was awake when it happened.

Answers:

Though it's rare, it still could be sleep paralysis, that's happening when it shouldn't be. You can apparently be conscious while sleep paralysis is happening, if something is 'malfunctioning'. Those sounds can happen during sleep transitions (even though you were not technically asleep).

"Sleep paralysis occurs either when falling asleep, or when awakening. When it occurs upon falling asleep, the person remains aware while the body shuts down for REM sleep, and it is called hypnagogic or predormital sleep paralysis."

call the number on the back of your insurance card and talk to a nurse. they can't determine what u have but can tell u how serious and to make an appointment with the doctor. if u can yell for help in this condition maybe a trip to the e.r. is in order before u do any damage by forcing your body to obey

you may have a neurological disorder you should make an appointment to see you doctor.

Do a full med check up? Hmm.. pretty hard to say.. Lol
