I'm looking advise on eating and depression. Can the two be linked?!

Question: I'm looking advise on eating and depression. Can the two be linked?
Since last Sunday me and my mum have not spoke, reason I'm not talking to her is because she makes me look bad in front of people, and she lied about me, and accuses me of lying when I'm not and I'm sick of it. I've suffered from depression but recently relapsed and the bad days are worse. There have been times today where I have thought about killing myself but I haven't and I'm determined not to.

I haven't really been eating. Yesterday I had cereal and a tin of spaghetti, for dinner I ordered in a pizza but after I ate it I had diarrhea. For the past week all I've ate is cereal (Breakfast), a tin of spaghetti (Late lunch early dinner) and that's it. I feel hungry yet I don't go and get proper food. My brain says I'm hungry but I 'forget' about and carry on with what I'm doing. My stomach is rumbling right now but I don't want to eat.

I'm going to my doctor when I can be bothered to make an appointment. Was just wondering if anyone knows if the depression and lack of eating could be linked? I'm just interested before I go to the doctor.

Please only mature/ sensitive people answer cos I can't be bothered with a** holes.

Answers:

It isn't uncommon for depression to effect a person's normal daily activities, which can in some cases include appetite and eating patterns. I would not put off making that appointment with your doctor.

Of course the two are connected. I suffered from depression and started eating alot. I started not to care about my appearance and gained some weight, now i lost the weight. If i were you, i would try to go to a credible therapist or social worker and if you still have issues with depression, medication might help.
