I took 8 valiums within 48 hours and had a dirty drug screen (urine) 25 days lat!

Question: I took 8 valiums within 48 hours and had a dirty drug screen (urine) 25 days later. How? & Why?
I go to a Methadone Clinic in which they drug test you whenever they want. I failed a drug test for Benzos. I took 8 blue valiums within 48 hours. Let me explain in depth...

Between January 26th and 27th I took 8 blue valiums. When I went in on the 28th they popped a piss test on my in which I failed. I admitted it and got a warning. Well, they tested me again February 14th, 17th, and 20th...all of which came back positive for benzo's. Now, I DID NOT take any benzo's after 1/27/11, why are the tests showing up positive still? I'm 27 years old, 260lbs, and haven't been very active because of a cold, but shouldn't it have left my system long ago? I need to prove to them that I never took any Benzo's after my initial drug screen Jan 28th, in which I failed.

I know some of you may look at me like I'm some junkie...but I'm not. I used to be, but thank god for the methadone, I don't have to run the streets and rob and steal just to feel better. It's saving my life!. ANYWAY...If anyone out there could help me, It would be a life saver. Not only will you be helping me but also my wife and kids along with my mother that worries about me too much as it is. Thanks for your time.

Answers:

The half-life for Valium can be up to 200 hours (8.3 days) which I think means it can stay in your system much longer, up to 16 days.

I suppose it's possible you have a very slow metabolism which caused it to stay in your system. Maybe the cold had something to do with it? A doctor or pharmacist would know the answer.

Good luck, and good for you for trying to get clean!

All drugs take quite a while to exit the blood stream especially when a large quantity are take over a short time. This includes all classes of drugs including mild pain killers. An anesthetic for example after an operation cn still show up after 4 to 6 months.
