How to stop smoking without gaining weight?!

Question: How to stop smoking without gaining weight?
I would prefer to not use anything like the gum or patch. Is there anyway to stop without gaining weight?

Answers:

You have to exercise a lot and be very careful about what you eat. If you don't want to use the gum (which worked better for me than the patch), or patch, good luck as they both dramatically improve the success rate of quitters.

There are 2 main things that tend to make people gain weight when quitting smoking:
1) Substitution -- to counter this, keep a supply of carrots or celery or whatever with you and some FAT free dressing so that you are eating healthy, low cal/low-fat foods
2) The lack of nicotine will slow your metabolism - another reason using the patch or gum to gradually reduce your dependence will not cause a shock to you system.

Good luck on your efforts. The longer you smoke, the harder it is to quit. Losing 5 or 10 pounds of short-term wait gain is NOTHING compared to quitting smoking.

Personal experience.

I cold turkeyed smoking, Heroin, Crack and pot at different times of my life and the cigarettes was the hardest and I gained weight but so what I don't smoke

Don't buy cigarettes, don't eat like a slob. Problem solved.

WTF?!?!?!?!?!?!/!?!?!?!?!?!? i dont get it...
