I have a really weird habit I want to get rid of. Don't judge me! Help?!

Question: I have a really weird habit I want to get rid of. Don't judge me! Help?
Okay, long story short, I was 7 years old. I was sensitive, and felt bad for inanimate objects. So for Christmas, I got two eye caps. I really felt bad if I just wore one, so you know what I did? I wore both. One over my eyes, and, because I would talk in my sleep, one on my mouth. It became a creature of habit, and its gotten ridiculous. I cannot sleep without them, otherwise, I chronically open my eyes and feel just air all over my face. I don't talk in my sleep much anymore. I really don't like this, and please don't judge me, otherwise I'll report you. I'm still just a regular person, I just, like everyone else, have a bad habit. It's time I do something about it. Any ideas?

I have a similar habit. When I was 4-5, my dad would let me sleep on the couch from time to time. But I had to cover my head with the covers, and face towards the couch. Since then, I slept with my head under the covers. Not through any fear, just habit. I wasn't able to sleep otherwise. It was weird. Camping, I always put a shirt over my head or something.

It was really only recently when I started breaking that habit. Really it ended up with me just working really long days, from the gym, to walking around town for a few hours, working in people's yards, and then work in which I am moving the entire time. I come home absolutely dead tired. I just lay in bed, turn the A/C on, and just fall asleep.

So, just find something comfortable. I'm not saying get so tired you can't function, but just to a point where you're comfortable where you can sleep. And if you need something over your eyes, then ok.

just suffer a few nights without them and eventually you will get used to it

Everyone has this habits of doing certain things, however you have the control to stop this habits. I'm sure it will not happen overnight, but the fact of the matter is that you can try. Throw them away and don't hide them, but THROW THEM AWAY. Yes, it might take a while to get use to, but you will eventually get use to it. You might not sleep, you might feel stress, or like giving up, but yet you can overcome this. So right now, go get them and throw them away. After time, it will stop and this will be something you won't worry about any longer.
