Abilify, Ritalin, Citalopram questions?!

Question: Abilify, Ritalin, Citalopram questions?
I have severe anxiety/depression, insomnia, and ADD. I have been taking Citalopram for about 2 years, Ritalin for 4 months, and Klonopin for 10 years. I dont think the Citalopram is working anymore and my Pdoc wants to add a low dose of Abilify. I have read some bad stuff about Abilify and am wondering if this is the way to go? Anyone who has had experience with Abilify or any combination of these meds that would help me decide would be greatly appreciated! I have researched online for 5 hours and would just like some feedback from people with first hand experience. Thanks!

I have taken both abilify and citalopram, seperately. I took citalopram whan i was a kid so I don't remember much about it. I also don't remember why my dr stopped it. Ineffectiveness, symptoms getting worse and bad side effects were that reasons that i encountered during all of the medications I have tried.

I do remember being on abilify. It made me feel woozy so much that in the first couple days I fell a few times. It made me feel numbed, forcibly like something was keeping me from feeling or thinking properly. I was very apathetic. And I felt detached. Which are symptoms of mental illness, but I never had any of those before or since. I still have head rushes. I had them before I was on abilfy and they got worse on it but not better off of it. It could be a coincidence though.

I was taking them for cyclothimia

You seem to suffering from anxiety neurosis which could be a part of depression. I’ll suggest you to use some tranquilizers at night so that you can have a good sleep. You may also need anti-depressants. I’ll suggest you to visit a psychiatrist and seek an opinion because all these drugs need a prescription.
