is sensitive hearing a problem or a symptom of anything?!

Question: Is sensitive hearing a problem or a symptom of anything?
i have really good hearing and its annoying. the soft electronic thrum of my speakers is so loud to me, so is the laptop whiring, the microwave, alarms and noises outside. is it a symptom of anything? i have had it for as long as i remember. i can hear people whispering from across the room, music from ipod earphones in someones pocket when they are sitting near me, conversations from the other end of the house. i can hear my phone vibrate on my desk with my music on when im in the next room.

Good hearing alone is not a symptom of anything. But nobody has superhuman hearing. What is likely happening is that you are noticing the things that other people can hear but ignore. That suggests ADD.

Being distacted by a ticking clock is the classic symptom. Most people can hear the clock tick, but most people block it out. People with ADD have a hard time ignoring it, and they become hyper-aware of the clock (or alrm, or fan noise).

You are most likely a superhero
