Is it time to see a doctor?!

Question: Is it time to see a doctor?
I've been having these pains for many months now. I don't really know what's wrong with it.

It's usually by my hip, but also kind of like, in the lower back. It would stop hurting for a while and start hurting again after I have fitness. I'm a Freshman in High School, and fitness day, we would usually run laps around the gym for half an hour. After running, my hip/back would start to hurt again and the pain wont go away until days later. It only hurts when I walk, so it's perfectly fine when I'm sitting down or not moving. To somehow ease the pain a little when I walk, I would have to put my hand where it hurts and put pressure on it.

I asked my mom about it, she doesn't know either. She told me that if it still hurt the next day, she would take me to go see a doctor. When the next day came, it stopped hurting so she didn't take me. But, just a few days ago, I told my mom that it started hurting again and she offered to take me to the hospital again. When she brings that up, I just become really quiet because I really don't what to go to the hospital for this.

I would suggest you see an MD. Unless its a big emergency and you feel that you will die from it, i would stay away from the ER. This sound like nerve pain. Most General MDs can diagnose this kind of pain. However you may have to have a (MRI) Magnetic Resonance Imaging or a XRAY. This will help any physician diagnose you problem.

Also try and stay away from Narcotic Pain Killers. They do not treat pain. They just cover or mask it. Just a word of the wise.

I am a medical doctor however I will not be responsible for advice given in the Yahoo Answers setting. In no way should this be taken as a medical opinion.

Why not go? These pains could be an indication of a much worse problem to come. If you catch things early, they have a much better chance of curing.

There could be a variety of causes for this, but it's important that you go and see a doctor. It could be something serious, it could just be postural. A doctor can figure out what is wrong and can sort you out with appropriate (and possibly much needed) treatment for whatever is causing the problem.

It's not necssarily anything serious, but better to be safe than sorry.
