Why would you want to donate blood?!

Question: Why would you want to donate blood?
Why, is the question. What purpose would that serve you? The money? the little money they give?

Why would you want to help someone you don't know out and donate blood when they could be an evil person or someone you don't like anyway.

Answers:

To answer the first part of your question:
The purpose is likely out of the generosity of a person. They know that giving blood will make the difference in the life of somebody in desperate need of blood. It should never have anything to do with the money, and if it is, I personally think that is unethical... however, to the best of my knowledge, you do not get paid to give blood. You voluntarily donate it.

To answer the second part of your question:
As a person who has TWICE received donated blood transfusions, I can say that it is LIFE SAVING. I had to undergo emergency surgery when I was 16, as I has Stage III cancer. During surgery, my tumour ruptured (actually, prior to surgery it ruptured) and I was bleeding internally. Had it not been for some "stranger" that donated their blood, it is entirely possible I could have died... especially if people didn't donate blood for feer of it being given to somebody "evil" or "not liked". It's not about the person who gets the blood - it's about saving a life.
Due to cancer treatment, my blood was unhealthy and I required another transfusion. I will say, it's eerie seeing somebody else's blood drip into your body via an IV. But, it made me wonder: who was this kind person? Does this person ever think that they may be saving a life? It also made me want to thank whoever it was that donated their blood -- I'll never know who the people were that were a part of my recovery, but I am forever indebted to them for their blood donations.
It makes me quite sad that your question appears to have a negative reaction to blood donation. Perhaps you are doing this to get a "rise" out of people, or you could be genuinely interested. I hope my story may give you a bit of insight into why donating blood is so precious and important to human life!

I agree with Badger G in the Uk we do not get paid to donate blood but I'm guessing if you needed it you would want it, Its not Only trauma victims that need blood transfusions, there are many middle aged and elderly patients that require a blood transfusion on a regular basis. There are also many children who need them also due to different illnesses. Of course there is a chance that the blood donated may go to a sh**itbag, However there is a lot of people who do deserve it.

In the health care profession there is no place to play god (expression rather than belief) It is hard to explain unless you work in the profession that you are not there to judge no matter what that person has done in their life. I feel good about giving blood maybe because I have the chance to see the results. Even before that I was a blood donor and an organ donor. The person you help may be a stranger but then I could not walk on by if I saw someone collapse on the street.

I have been a blood donor since I was 17.
I choose to donate because I know that I am making a difference.
I am in the medical field so I know just how precious a life is.
I don't care who the person is or what horrible things they have done - a life is a life.
My blood type is 0+, universal, so all can benefit from it except 0-.

And fyi, you do not get paid to donate.
If you did, then you did not donate.
To donate means to give without expecting or accepting anything in return.
I donate about every 56 days, or 6 times a year! :)

I have never received money for donating my blood. However, I have type O neg blood. I am able to give my blood to babies/ Newborns anyone can receive my blood.
You must be very young to even ask such a silly question.
What if you needed blood? I could give my blood to you becuase my blood is universal .. Should I not give my blood to you because you might be evil? It's called being a good person! Caring for one another!!

In the UK, you don't get paid for donating blood, people do it out of the kindness in their hearts.

People do it because they would hope that there would be blood if they needed it one day!

Do as you would be done by.

most countries you get payed pretty good money, and you can save a life for a GOOD person. Its just a good thing to do, nothing bad comes from it.

To save a person?
