How to heal body after drug abuse?!

Question: How to heal body after drug abuse?
I have abused some prescription painkillers for the past 2.5 years. Luckily I realized this is not the life I want anymore and I want to heal my body.Im off percocet and using a new form of subutex thats more effective at the moment(for next 3 months) Ive never admitted to my doctor I abused the pills he gave me as to not get black listed from prescription painkillers (which is a real thing many people do not know) incase I truly need them in the future for a serious reason. I know my liver and digestive track have suffered greatly during the time I abused them. What vitamins or supplements can I take without telling my doctor that may help reverse and heal some of the damage ive caused to my liver/ digestive track. Thanks!

Answers:

You can do some "liver detox"-- go to vitacost or somewhere and buy their herbs, or you can pay through the nose for highly-advertised liver detox programs. Swanson's is good too. http://www.amazon.com/Liver-Tone-Detox-F… Get a herbal blend for the first month or so.

Take a good multivitamin, eat right-- be sure and do all that healthy stuff. Your brain and nervous system probably suffered also. Make sure your multi has good B-vitamins.

Your digestive tract needs fiber (more than you think) and probiotics like acidophilus (healthy intestinal flora). The fiber helps move stuff through, and as you detox, a lot of the toxins are excreted to the digestive tract. So you need to keep it moving.

You should be able to do this for maybe $20-30 including the detox formula, the acidophilus, fiber and a multivitamin, if you shop well.

Your body will heal itself if you give it the tools it needs (nutrition, mostly.) Keep up the vitamins and fiber even after you feel like you don't need more liver detox products.

Your doctor doesn't need to know you are taking detox products. He/she probably doesn't believe it matters, anyway.

I'm so glad your clean now :)
I know this is weird but I spend a lot of my time with my aunt who was an addict on something else..
She does alot of physical activity now like skiing, yoga, pilates. I know it sounds weird :X but yeah..
She did heroin so in her room she has a shrine to show her how well she's done. Just a lighter.
Shes been clean for 13 years :) Very very hippyish now though lol
All I can say is take vitamins, and be healthy..
You can eat yogurt which will put bacteria back and help you along the way.
Good luck :D
