Is the BCG injection painful?!
Question: Is the BCG injection painful?
Is the BCG needle painful?
I'm in Year 10 (14, almost 15) and there's a rumour going round that if you get a certain letter, you have the option to have the BCG (tuberculosis) jab. My parents insist I'm getting it if I do, to which I'm in a complete and utter state of panic. When I had my HPV jab, I cried my eyes out, I have panic attacks at the thought of needles, and I heard they do something to your wrist and I hate wrists. I've also heard the needle's huge and leaves a scar, and I'm terrified. Help? Is it painful?

I'm a phlebotomist and i've done that procedure before. I will tell you the truth....it will hurt a little more than a regular stick. But that is just because of the area that is getting stuck.
This is a great resource for panic and anxiety related issues, and I hope it helps
