I suffered from social anxiety for much of my young life and I'm going to tell you how I got rid of it for good.
The key to overcoming your social anxiety is confidence.
The key to confidence is the ability to go into a situation and not care about what others might say or think about you.
You need to sit down and think about what it is that you're actually scared of. For me, it was a fear of being disliked. I didn't want to say something that might upset someone so I'd get very nervous and end up panicking when put on the spot and I'd say something odd or slightly offensive in an attempt to be funny. I only realised all this after asking myself what I was actually scared of and getting inside my own head.
So one day I thought to myself 'well why do I care so much about what other people think?' and that was my moment of enlightenment. I/you shouldn't care about what other people think. If they don't like you, screw them! You don't need their approval.
The first social situation I went into after that I thought to myself 'Right, I'll be kind and courteous to this person but I really don't care if they like me or want to be my friend' and as if by magic my social anxiety was gone. When I didn't care about what they thought of me I remained totally relaxed and everything else just fell into place after that.
You need to stop caring about what others think and, believe me, everything else after that will be a walk in the park.
Hope this helps.

Man I used to have anxiety disorder too but related to another thing. I know how disabling it can be. One thing i learned is that different things work for different people. But one thing that helped me a lot was facing my fear and not having an aviodant personality this is something that you can overcome, but you have to work at. Here is a website that helped me a lot seriously, listen to the tapes and practice them daily. Its free and they work check it out. http://www.selftherapy.org/

Try to talk to your parents about it, and from there you can try to get some sort of meds or therapy for it.
There really is no way around not telling your family though, since in order to get a prescription you must not be a minor, sorry /:
