Yes, there is a reason... but it is not really that your fingernails actually get longer, that is just how they 'look'! Let me explain...

A likewise observation is made on people after dying...!!
But the nails do not grow all after death; the impression is just created by the skin that starts wrinkling.

So, what the effect you observed is only the result of wrinkling skin.


PS. Few people know that alcohol is more addictive than heroin, crack & cocain, and it's a public secret that alcohol would have never made it to the market if it had not been introduced millenia before today - see the source below.

There isn't anything in alcohol that makes your nails grow longer. There is calcium in milk which makes your nails grow faster but i'm not aware of anything in alcohol that does it.



Maybe you don't pay as much attention to trimming your nails when you drink.



It's a sign that you're drunk..
