What Is Causing The Recurring Burning Sensation In My Throat?!

Question: What Is Causing The Recurring Burning Sensation In My Throat?
When I swallow a tablet it sometimes slightly grazes my throat, sometimes leading to this awful pain in my throat which lasts for several days. It's absolute agony, it feels like its severely scratched and burnt. I've had it several time in the past few months and it is really uncomfortable and unbearable.

I am always trying to be careful with taking medication now but today I got it from eating a sandwich which contained nothing sharp (or at least I assume it didn't) and the dreadful pain returned. The pain lasts the rest of the day and often the following day as well. It causes me so much pain to swallow liquid and any sort of food, I really can't stand it anymore.

Does anyone know why this might be happening?

Answers:

You could be getting canker sores in the back of your throat which most people get on their inner lips and maybe even their gums or tongue which could be causing your dreadful pain. It happened to me once and I could barely even drink it hurt SO much!!
Another possibility is that you could have strep throat or tonsillitis. Or you could even have acid reflux where the stomach acid in your belly comes up to your throat and creates that "burning" feeling. You should try some tums and see if that helps anything. It will neutralize the acid and make it easier for you to eat. If that doesn't work I would probably go in to see a Dr. just in case it's not something worse. Good Luck! :)
