Swollen lymph node during a cold?!

Question: Swollen lymph node during a cold?
I think I have a swollen lymph node. Its a painful spot on the lower right part of my neck. I cant see it, but if I feel around I feel a little bump underneath. It hurts pretty bad, specially when I cough. I have a cold right now, Im at about day 6 of it. I noticed it a few days ago. It is just because of the cold right? I dont know what else would cause it, or what else it could be. I stil have a little bit of a cough and a lot of congestion. Im just really nervous because I read that it could be cancer.

Answers:

Everybody seems to freak out and think cancer as soon as they get a swollen lymph node. BUT cancer will be in another place long before it shows in lymph nodes.

You have a cold and you have a swollen lymph node indicating you have an infection causing the cough. Or along with the cough.

All you need to do is visit your Doctor and get a prescription for antibiotics.
