Bleeding from rectal?!

Question: Bleeding from rectal?
So, this is a bit embarrassing.
I've been constipated all day.. Like I can feel the poop ,and part of it comes out, but it won't all come out; It just hangs there no matter how hard I push. I've gotten parts of it out, but I can't get all of it.
It's to the point where i'll sit on the toilet 20 minutes pushing, and just pull the poop back up and try again later.
Just now, though, I noticed when I wiped that there was cardinal red blood... Should I be concerned?

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Blood can often show up during a bowel movement if one is constipated. The cause for concern would be occult blood, i.e. blood throughout the stool which could indicate intestinal bleeding and cause the stool to appear purplish throughout. This blood is very likely from the constipation. Consider taking a stool softener (not a laxative...they can cause a lot of side effects and just force it to come out but still be hard and painful). If the constipation is from someone you ate or a medicine (opiates, for example, often cause constitation), stop eating or taking the aggravating substance. If it does not get better tomorrow, consider calling a doctor. I'm not a doctor so my advice is not a perscription to follow but if I were in your case that's what I would do. Drink a lot of fluids and eat some fiber. Consider getting Activia or another product that keeps one regular. I hope you feel better!
