Am I having seizures while sleeping?!
Question: Am I having seizures while sleeping?
Answers:
Those aren't seizures. Many people experience very similar things when they're falling asleep. Sometimes the brain misinterprets the process of falling asleep with the body shutting down completely and will send a pulse to all the muscles to wake them up. It's also normal to experience paralysis during sleep. Unless these things are interfering with your ability to sleep, there's nothing to worry about.
When you are having seizures in your sleep, you would normally wake up shortly After or during the seizure. So despite the fact about the pain you had and the rude awakening, It sounds like a dream. But currently It is sounding like you are having mild to moderate seizures. I could go deeper into detail but I don't have enough information. normally seizures would caus dizzieness, drousiness, nausea, stomach aches, and muscle soreness at some times. But pain is unusual. I can't go into good detail so I would check with a doctor
It's called 'sleep paralysis' and is pretty common. The pathophysiology of this condition is closely related to the normal hypotonia that occurs during REM sleep. It's also common to feel a sense of presence like somebody is coming close to you and you can't move. Usually happens if you are really really tired, or have a lack of sleep. I've had it a couple of times and it's never fun.
