I have the same problem, relationship, friendships, stress, etc.
I decided to just put it away at night, & not think about it,& every morning I would try to resolve all I can,I would also listen to music & read a book, or just do push ups till my arms feel like rubber bands, you should just work yourself off

It’s a problem that 2 out of every 3 women face: not being able to sleep soundly. Whether the issue lies in your sleep quality or quantity, the consequences can affect nearly every aspect of your waking life. Insomniacs often experience weight gain, detrimental effects to their long-term memory, and increased blood pressure – the #1 cause of aging. Stop tossing and turning, and take steps to make sleep a priority in your life.

Stop alcohol

It’s the worst beverage to drink before you go to sleep. Alcohol may make you feel tired, but once it has metabolized in your body, it will wake you up. Stop drinking at least 2 hours before bed to avoid disrupting the natural rhythm necessary for good sleep.

Light

Exposure to light or darkness is a key factor in how well you sleep. An area in your brain called the hypothalamus reacts to light by signaling other parts of your brain that control hormones, body temperature, and other functions that play a role in making you feel sleepy or wide awake.

Additionally, your pineal gland, a gland located in the middle of your brain, senses exposure to light. It is responsible for melatonin, nicknamed “the Dracula of hormones” because it only comes out in the dark. As levels of melatonin in your blood rise, you begin to feel less alert. Melatonin normally peaks at night; but, if light stimulates the pineal gland, melatonin release is inhibited, which can disrupt your sleep.

In addition to turning off all indoor lights, you should shut off your electronics. Like a bat, turn your bedroom into a dark and quiet cave. Use your bed for sex and sleep only.

Environment

Ideal sleeping temperature is 65 degrees F. It may seem severe, but you can always put on an extra blanket if you are cold; while it’s more difficult to cool down if you are hot.

Extra Time

There is no benefit to using the snooze alarm. As you sleep, you go through different sleep phases until you reach the restorative kind of sleep called REM (rapid eye movement sleep). It takes about 60 minutes to reach that critical deep sleep. A typical snooze is less than 10 minutes, barely enough time to get back into light sleep. This means that snoozing provides no restorative benefit. You will feel more awake if you set a wake time and stick to it.

Practice

You can’t prevent yourself from waking in the middle of the night, but if you practice relaxing, you can help yourself go back to sleep. Meditation, visualizing happy images, and counting backwards are all methods you can use to coax your body into relaxing. By slowing down your body and mind, you are more able to slip into sleep.

I've had this problem for a long time and thought the same thing. Being depressed is so hard, I don't know very much to tell you about that. Reading always makes me really tired. Don't eat or drink sugar or caffeine within a few hours before you want to go to sleep. Working out will make you healthier and feel better, and I can tell a difference in how I sleep when I'm in shape. It also helps me to not be as depressed so I would recomend that if you have time. I personally have gottende pendantter since Nataltten close to God. I'm a Christian now and I've never really felt like I have purpose in living before. I feel like I matter and I'm loved, and before I was the complete oposite. If you are willing to try it, I would encourage you to visit a good church or listen to Christian music. This doesn't make you a Christian, it's to encourage you. Being a Christian is having a personal relationship with God. You could also try melatonin, a sleeping pill. Sometimes I take it when I really need to. Ask a doctor about it, I don't think it's dependant and it's natual. My dad gave me some because sometimes I still can't go to sleep until 5 or 6. Sorry, this is really long and sporadic, and I don't mean to sound preachy or anything about God. That's just what I have personally found and I love it. I'm so different now. I've been throught the same thing and I did all these things. I hope this helped you some!

it could be from a number of things. classically speaking, check your caffeine intake. If you smoke, the nicotine can disrupt your cycle. If you're weening yourself off a medication (especially sleep medication) that can cause dependency and lack of sleep. I know how you feel. Mine was b/c I had to drop sleeping pills (i have night terrors). I'm not saying you're on meds or have any issues with them. But do try to look at what you were doing before oyu had this problem. Alternatively, what did oyu start doing differently? was there a major change in your life? a large decision? stress? If you bring work to bed via laptop, tha'ts a horrible idea.
remedies include warm milk and such, but those are all crap if you've got a severe a problem as I did. I tried spending that time meditating. Other than that, try to last the whole next day. Greet what it has to offer you, and see the time you have awake as time to get things done. You'll feel more complete and accomplished when you lie down. IF you have a lot of pressing things, you may want to try taking a day off or two. Your meals may have a lot to do with it too. Lack of D and melatonin can cause these problems.
I don't really know oyu or your situation. but try
a healthy eating style (vitamins, veggies, etc). or have your doctor take a blood sample to see what you're lacking and work from there.
try exercising intensively to get your endorphins running (and I mean, RUNNING)
avoid bringing daily life to the bed
try meditating
if all else fails, whistle while oyu work to help your body understand that it's time to sleep.

Goodluck!

I've been an insomniac since I was a kid (sleepwalking) up until the last year when I changed all of these. Best of wishes to you
