This is completely normal. Everybody experiences a brief ringing in one ear or the other from time to time.

My ears have been ringing non-stop for about 12 or 13 years and I experience several of these spikes in one ear or the other each day.

I get more of them if I've had a lot of caffeine, too little sleep, or am stressed out.
