Why do I shock everything I touch and how do I stop?!

Question: Why do I shock everything I touch and how do I stop?
When I pet animals, I shock them. When I meet people and shake their hand, I shock them. When I'm just messing around with friends, I shock them!
Now, it's not, like, every single time I touch something, but it happens very often, usually when I haven't touched anything else for 10 or more minutes.
It even happens with inanimate objects. Like when I shut my car door, I feel a shock, or when I pick up my bag or text books.
If I open my eyes at night and roll over in bed, I can SEE white sparks jumping between me and the blanket, and I can hear them pop!
The last straw was when I went to plug in the charger for my laptop into the wall, and saw a huge spark pop up between the socket and my hand. Not the plug of the charger, which was in my left hand, but my empty, bare, right hand! It freaked me out!

I know I don't drag my feet, my mom made sure of that when I was a kid. I've tried wearing different shoes, buying clothes made of different materials, pretty much everything I can think of, but the electric shocks just don't stop!

This has been going on for a few years now.

Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can make it stop?

In the winter the air gets dry in the house from no moisture in the air. The best thing to do is get a humidifier and run it daily. Another thing is you can put water on to boil and let it continue to boil, just don't boil it dry, keep adding water which will also put moisture in the air and open windows when it is warm enough outside to get moisture in the house. Everyone starts shocking things, people, animals, anything they touch when the air is so dry. You just needs to get moisture in the air and you will stop shocking everything.

Its just static electricity. Happens to me too when I roll around under my big poofy comforter

And lay off the voodoo. .

Do not wear anything that contains nylon as it is a conductor of electricity. Wear cotton clothing, from your underwear to your feet.
I used to have the same problem when I was nursing. Some people think it is a good thing to get the occasional jolt, but you and I know, it's not fun.
When getting out of a car, try this. Hold the inside of the door and place 1 or both feet on the ground outside the car, while getting out. Shut door without your hand leaving its original position. A wonderful trick of earthing yourself without the painful zing you usually get.

Shocking, but true
