Why do I get anxious after a cigarette?!

Question: Why do I get anxious after a cigarette?
This has been happening for a few months now, and I don't know why. I've been smoking for 4 years, and it never used to happen.. and lately now, nearly every cigarette gives me an anxiety attack straight after or during.
Why?

Answers:

I agree with Nick, tobacco companies not only increased their prices, they increased the addictive chemicals too! I have been a smoker for 16 years and they definitely 1) taste worse than ever 2) are harder to ignore or resist 3) bother my stomach and make my heart beat faster more than before 4) are harder to "pull" from so my lungs are forced to work harder to get harmful chemicals to pollute them! and 6) all these problems got worse once the prices went up !!!
My husband and I recently amazed ourselves by quitting. He bought the electronic vapor cigarette, NJoy. You only buy one then get refills. It has nicotine but no tar, arsenic, carbon monoxide (and all the other unnecessary chemicals) and no secondhand smoke. I don't even crave the nicotine at all now and it has only been a couple of weeks. Don't mean to sound like a commercial but we have been smoking for over a decade and I gave up on even trying to quit but I have STOPPED and I was able to almost immediately after we got the electronic cigarette. No awful smoke - only vapor so we should be allowed to "smoke" in restaurants again. Hope this helps you the way it helped us - we save $450-$500 a month from not buying cigarettes!!!!

It's called a cigarette buzz. And though you've been smoking for years, Big-tobacco probably upped the amount of nicotine in cigarettes again. And you got a buzz again like when you were in high school.
