He is also very pale and complains of feeling dizzy at times, im worried as he is very thin and we find it hard for him to put on weight so we tend to fuss him abit.People are saying to me that it is normal for these nosebleeds do you agree?

picking his nose

It is not normal for your9 year old son to have nose bleed consistently. You should first have him checked by pediatrician to see if he is not anemic. Then you should give him bioflavnoid 2000mg per day . It will help with capillary fragility. Another remedy to strengthen the blood vessels in the nose is VM120, a liquid iron concentrate. You can apply in nose with cotton, leave cotton in nose for 1 minute and remove with a twisting motion

no this is not normal. he might have an occasional nose bleed, but this is excessive, and he needs to be checked by a doctor, and some lab work needs to be done, at the very least, he may have dry thin skin in his nose, and dry heat is making it worst, however, he may have a blood clotting problem and it could be very serious. not to scare you but get your son checked.

First things first. Make an appointment to the doctors. Now also what you could do to help is feed him healthy things like chicken or what not. Also make sure he drinks lots of water to keep him hydrated from the blood loss. I get nose bleeds all the time. Infact i just had one yesterday. I usually get them when the air is to humid/hot. My doctor told me to go to the store and get the *saline nasil spray* This moisturizez the nasal passages so theyre not dry. Also make sure he isnt scratching at the inside of his nose or blowing his nose to hard. I hope your son gets well. & good luck!

My doctor

5 times a day is a bit excessive, but it depends on how much blood he is losing.
Who are these people? Are they doctors? Pale and dizzy and bleeding all tell me that he's losing blood, but it could mean he's anemic as well. There could be many other causes. My sister got nosebleeds more in the winter because of the dry air. When I was younger I wanted attention so I'd make my nose bleed.
Get him checked out by a doctor.

The first thing I wanna ask you is, what do you feed him?

This is where almost all health problems stem from, and there is a lot of crap out there for 5 year old children like Kraft Dinner, Hot Dogs, Snack Pack Lunchables, etc.

The nosebleeds are normal I think, but the paleness and dizziness is not.

He could also be sick.

When I was a kid I got nose bleeds alot too and we found out it was from the dry air according to my Dr but I was never pale, dizzy or lacking in weight. I'd get him to the Dr asap if I were you. It may be nothing but if were my kid, I'd be concerned.

High blood pressure and weak blood vessels in the nasal passages could be the cause...it can be cured by cauterising.

Grandson suffered same thing at that age

A 9 y/o is probably picking his nose into bleeding. Combined that with the dry air of winter and their you go.

Either he's doin' cocaine, or you need to get him to a doctor

high blood pressure.
