Psychedelics are physically some of the safest drugs out there. It's harder to get addicted and overdose on them. The big thing is making sure the kind you have is psylocibin mushrooms, and not an impostor that could be deadly to consume. Which is why it's not recommended to go out looking for wild mushrooms unless you know exactly what you are doing. Otherwise as long as you are mentally prepared to trip out there is really not much to worry about as they are relatively safe.

Drug Psychology

The short answer is no. Psilocybin mushrooms (shrooms) are non-toxic and the center for Disease Control deems them "less toxic than asprin." However, psilocybin mushrooms look VERY similar to other, very dangerous wild mushrooms. If you do not know/trust your source, it's not a good idea to buy them. Anyone can grow shrooms and accidently pick the wrong kind, they are almost indistinguishable and some other mushrooms are highly toxic and will result in death.

So the act of taking shrooms will not kill you. Your behaviour while your high, however, could kill you. I know someone who jumped off a rooftop while he was high. He didn't die, but he was in critical condition and still cannot walk.

wikipedia and life.

if you take the hallucinogenic shrooms, no you're not gonna die.

Take some random mushrooms and yeah you could possibly die.

Like this other guy said though, if you get the shrooms from a reliable enough dealer, there should definitely not be a problem. If you're really scared to take them though, it's best that you don't. Stick to weed

If you have some foreign mushroom mixed in the batch than yeah, but that's highly unlikely. Im sure you could OD on them though, eat like more than an ounce you would probably die. Either way they aren't a good idea, LSD makes you brain-dead. a few times is ok, anything more than that isn't good.
