Why am I not allowed to have my tonsils removed?!

Question: Why am I not allowed to have my tonsils removed?
My tonsils are too large for my throat. Doctors have always told me that I'll grow into them...I'm sixteen, they seem to have grown with me. I went to the doctor last year because I had tonsillitis, only to be told the exact same thing. I was also told that if I were to get tonsillitis again, to take aspirin to keep my tonsils from swelling up worse than they already are. I've had it at least three times since last year but they still won't let me get my tonsils removed, why is that?

Tonsils are meant to help you not get sick as it collects bacteria from the food but if you get sick a lot that means the tonsils are doing no good therefore they remove them.
