You can find the answers with a simple search the prone position can be used for respiratory patients (see: http://erj.ersjournals.com/content/20/4/…

There are several recumbent positions

The upright position for labour, as well as other things

I believe Trendelenburgh can be used for patients with low BP (feet above the head) and patients with air embolus

Fowler's is just as you would expect to see a hospitalised (non-critical) patient, sat up.
