It sounds to me like your first period. If you're wondering what this is and why it happens, periods are something that happen to all girls when their bodies start changing and getting ready to have babies. Next time you see your mom tell her and she might explain a bit more about it.

you've probably started your period prematurely. talk to your mum about it. or a teacher at school

It sounds like you may have just had your first menstrual period. You get your first periods when puberty starts. Although 9 years old is a little young to start puberty, it is not that rare, either. Girls are starting puberty a lot younger these days than say 50 years ago. Talk to your mother about it right away. Let her give you one of her menstrual pads, and when it starts to get soaked, show it to her. She will probably be able to recognize menstrual blood versus other types of bleeding. If the bleeding stops in 3 or 4 days on its own, then most likely it was your period. If it doesn't stop by then, or gets heavier, ask your mother to take you to see your doctor right away. You should probably have your mother make a routine appointment to see your doctor within the next few weeks anyway, even if it is just your period, to make sure there aren't any hormone problems which could cause you to start puberty at such a young age.
