How long does it take to replenish good bacteria in the stomach?!
Question: How long does it take to replenish good bacteria in the stomach?
Answers:
I believe it takes about two weeks, give or take, if you are on probiotics that have multiple strands of bacteria in them, and are eating what you would normally eat to sustain them. You could help the probiotics along by eating yogurt, doesn't matter which kind. As long as you've stopped taking the meds that racked up your digestion in the first place, the probiotics can settle in and do their work, not only in the stomach, but more in the intestine. Look for one that has acidophilus and b. bifidobacterium and lactobicillus or some such combination. You may wish to keep taking the probiotics at a scaled-back level after you get your digestion back on track, to keep it that way. Just depends, try it and see! You can even order it online from rite aid, walgreens, etc for more variety and a cheaper price. Best of luck!
