How do I stay alert while working?!

Question: How do I stay alert while working?
I work on a computer both as an online instructor and a writer. Both jobs require a lot of concentration and quick thinking. I work as a writer in the mornings, but often my job as an instructor goes to 10 or 11 pm, and I am not much of a night person.

My job as an online instructor puts me in a classroom with students for hours at a time, often without time to get up (even to the bathroom). I drink hot tea to keep my voice going, but often have to take off my headset to drink. I obviously cannot listen to music, as it carries through the headset or I can't hear the student. For the most part, I work with younger students from ages 8 to 14.

As a writer, I have a lot more freedom to get up and move around, but that is a smaller part of my income (trying to change that). It does require a lot of creativity though, and many times I end up going to nap instead of finishing what I need to write.

Try a good vitamin with B12. 5 or 6 Hour Energy shot.
Have you tried the voice software so you can walk around and just talk out your writing. The Instructor portion of your day, since they are 8 to 14, can you make it more dynamic and creative since they probably learn better in a dynamic environment as opposed to a lecture anyway?

Make sure the room is well lit, this will make you less likly to get drowsy.

Caffein and energy drinks can be helpful, but a health risk. So use these in moderation.

Getting enough sleep when you can is also a good idea, you can't go wrong with sleep.

Take vitamins. B vitamins will promote energy.

Hope this helps!
