Antibiotics and antihistamines with alcohol?!

Question: Antibiotics and antihistamines with alcohol?
Just let me say I am NOT going to drink, I'm honestly curious as to what would happen if I did.

I'm on penicillin based antibiotics for a chest infection and phenergan, an antihistamine that's meant to be taken at bed time, for a bad reaction to some kind of itchy bug bite...

If I were to drink, what would happen to the affects of these drugs and how much alcohol would it take to be in trouble?

Answers:

If you had about one or two drinks, it PROBABLY wouldn't do anything.
Antibiotics and alcohol mixed are generally not harmful to your body, however the alcohol renders the antibiotics useless. Basically, it makes them ineffective.
However, since what you're taking seems to be a bit more involved than antiobiotics for an ear infection, it may be different. But from what I know of medicine, it is not particularly dangerous. Though I still do not suggest getting drunk (having more than a couple drinks)
