Can someone please give me an explanation to this sleep paralysis story?!

Question: Can someone please give me an explanation to this sleep paralysis story?
So my mom always suffered from sleep paralysis for many years. She had no idea what it was but she hated it. She went to doctors and psychologists for many years but it wouldn't go away with anything. One night shortly after she got married, she was feeling another of those sleep paralysis episodes while she was falling asleep. In that moment, my dad, who was in the bathroom, opened the door and said that he saw some shadow going out the room through the window. My mom was able to move again when he opened the door. My dad had no idea she was feeling that, he was just going to the room. Ever since that happened, my mom never felt that again. what's the medical reason to this?

I got into this bc I just felt that twice already, once when sleeping sideways and the other on my stomach.

Answers:

There is no medical explanation that I know of. As for what your dad saw then it may have been a trick of his eyes. It may have been a coincidence that your mums symptoms went away. If you feel it was something more than that then I suggest that you seek advice from someone who specialises

As I understand it you cannot experience sleep paralysis whilst falling asleep. This can only happen when you are in a deep sleep and your body becomes paralysed so you don't act out your dreams or swallow your tongue etc. I do not however think that there will be an "alternative explanation" to this shadow, I think it was a trick of the eyes. I think the cause of this is psychological, maybe stress induced or something else...it's one of them situations that even if you're not thinking of the cause or what will happen, your brain may be telling you to do so.
