Why can't I stay asleep?!

Question: Why can't I stay asleep?
I'm a 14 year old, active girl so its not like I'm not tired. I fall asleep at around 10:30/11 ish. But, I ALWAYS wake up around 3:30 in the middle of the night. Why is this and how can I get it too stop? I already have trouble getting to sleep, so doing it again when the house is completely quiet is even harder. The only time I really feel amazingly comfortable sleeping is at around 5 in the morning. Why is this? How can I sleep soundly through the whole night without taking medications and such?

Do you experience any pain with it as well? Do you feel the need to move around a lot? Or just move your legs in general? Is it more noticeable during certain times like your cycle? Are you under a lot of stress or anxiety?
The reason I'm asking those questions is because they might lean more towards insomnia or a co-morbid of it. There is more symptoms than just those for insomnia and it's not something that's pleasant (I've had insomnia for years. It's not fun. :|) Usually, noise increases the ability to not be able to sleep.

Some things that do help sleep are a glass of milk before you sleep. It relaxes you. Also, make sure you don't do anything active before you fall asleep. At least an hour or more. Except yoga. Yoga and relaxing stretches can help unwind you. Avoid coffee and any caffeine before you sleep. Make sure your mind is clear as much as possible. If you have anything on your mind, write it down so it won't bother you.

There are some articles that do mention about helping to stay asleep, which I'm including for you. As well as the article about insomnia so you can read it as well. The last one, sleepnet.com has a sleep test that will help you figure out if you MIGHT have insomnia or sleep apnea and so on.

If this persists and becomes bothersome and even affects you during the day, I suggest going to see a doctor. See about a sleep test. They'll let you know if something is wrong. (they watch you sleep with a bunch of wires on you.) And, if need be, they might perscribe you medicine. I know you don't want that, but there are medicines out there that aren't that bad. Ambien isn't bad. I take that to help me sleep. It's a nonhabit forming medicine. So, you can take it when you want without becoming addicted to it.

No matter what you decide to do, talk to your doctor. I can't stress that enough: TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR. It's very important. He'll know what's going on and what's wrong and be able to help you. More than any of us could. XD But I hope something I said helps you.

I do this too, try not to eat too soon before bed because your digestive system will be doing its thing and it might keep you awake, you should also go to the toilet before bed even if you feel like you don't need to, try to make your room as dark as possible so if you do wake up and open your eyes I all ways just tell myself I'm still asleep it sounds stupid but I'm so tired I'm not thinking properly and I sometimes just fall straight back to sleep again also try to stop any cats or dogs from getting in my cat always jumps on my bed waking me up >:l hope this helped :)

that is so crazy, I do this to, most nights I wake up around 4am in the morning. It sounds funny but if you make sure you use the bathroom before you go to bed, even though you may not need it, it helps sometimes as your body needs to empty itself and that's why you get up for
