I think my friend is crazy. Is this normal behavoir for a person?!

Question: I think my friend is crazy. Is this normal behavoir for a person?
Okay, so my best friend Megan has been acting strange lately. She came over to my house a couple weeks ago and comented on how good the cookies smelled. Problem is there weren't any cookies at all. Then last weekend, I sleptover at her house and just before we went to sleep she locked every door and window in her house. Twice. She lives in a safe nieghborhood, so I don't understand why she was worried about anything. Also, whenever I see her, she looks around alot, like there's something there but there isn't. I asked her about it once and she said she sees "shadow people" out of the corners of her eyes but they move to fast for her to look at directly. Then yesterday during a math test she was bobbing her head. Afterwards, she said she was just keeping rythm with the music, but the classroom was completely quiet! She says these things like they're simple facts but she sounds completely insane. She's not hurting anyone or anything, but I'd like to know what's wrong with her. Does anyone have any ideas? Anything will help. Thanks!

Her hallucinations and delusions could perhaps be schizophrenia symptoms.

Shes probably trying to mess with you or maybe she's worried about something. Talk to her about it and if she feels comfortable shell tell you . Good luck :)

First, there is no such thing as "crazy". People can have mental conditions that alter their perception of reality, but saying crazy is incorrect. That being said, no mental disease could ever be diagnosed with so little evidence. However the symptoms are indicative of Schizophrenia and similar conditions. The music piece I would throw out as I know many people that do this. If she said the music was coming from the walls then there could be room for more concern. The doors/windows being locked twice, while a bit paranoid in action, could be explained away as being raised to do so or she was jsut unsure if she had locked everything up. The cookie smell is a bit more disconcerting, as this means her senses are affected somehow. The most troubling bit it the shadow people comment. However, without professional diagnosis, which would take place over a series of interviews with a pyschiatrist (has a PhD and can actually prescribe meds), this conversation is pointless. Talk to her about your concerns, and if needed her family.
