Why dont you tell the truth? Or if you HAVE to tell a lie then i would go with the 2nd one cause that is the truth. And the first one isnt really clear about the sitiuation, so it may lead to more questions or mabey even a Parent-to-Kid-With-the-Teacher confrence

First of all, you didn't explain the situation. Are you trying to sneak out to go to a party or something like that, or is it actually important? If the first one: sorry. No wonder your mom won't write the note. If you really want to get out of it, just leave, if its really worth it. And, by the way, if you need to "look good etc." and it takes time ut of class to do that, you have some serious time management problems. If I knew what your actual problem was, I could probably help a little.
