Questions about vaccines and getting sick?!

Question: Questions about vaccines and getting sick?
Hi, I'm Sophia. I'm sick right now, (the doctor doesn't know what it is) and I was wondering if it might have something to do with the vaccinations I got recently.

I'm going to travel to El Salvador in just under a month, and I needed vaccines and pills and things to protect myself. I got a tetanus booster, a Hepatitis A booster, typhus pills (these have live cultures, and needed to be refrigerated) and malaria pills that I haven't started taking yet.

But my general question is: because I'm taking all of these precautionary inoculations, am I more likely to get sick, from a cold or the flu, because my immune system has too much to handle right now? Should I be more careful than usual to stay healthy whenever I encounter a similar situation? Is it bad to get too many vaccinations at once, especially during the cold and flu season?

Thanks for your help!

Yep,you've got it,vaccinations are very bad for your immune system and overall health.

It does not work like that. Vaccination won't "weaken" your immune system or make you more susceptible to other infections. You don't need to take any other precautionary measure just because you've had a vaccine.

There is no problem having multiple vaccinations at once.

Vaccines generate an immune response, which can cause mild symptoms. However, this won't persist for very long. Another possibility is that you have a coincidental illness.

Well if you feel headaches and a slight temperature, it's your immune system trying to study and develop defences (antibodies) to the vaccines. The vaccines are models of viruses, not actual life infectious viruses.

Personally, I never had any reaction to any vaccine (not even redness or a slight temp elevation), and I've had all my shots.

You may either be infected with something other than a strain of infection that you immunized against or your body is having a hard time figuring out the vaccines.

Listing more details of your symptoms would help.
