Question: I recently had surgery and incision site is red, itchy and smells bad. I have a fever and feel terrible?

Is this an emergency or can I fix this at home? Any help is appreciated.

Take yourself to the emergency room. This is not normal or right. Do not try to fix this at home. I'll tell you what happened to me. I had a hip replaced 8/08, the day after staples were removed, i ended up in the emergency room, and in the hospital for a week, and on antibiotics for over 2 months, 6 weeks on IV antibiotics. Seems the damn surgery installed a case of MRSA in my wound.

It may be infected. I would go see a doctor.
