How long does a viral rash usually last?!

I went to the doctor about 4 days ago and the doctor told me it was an echovirus. (viral rash) My rash was at its zenith one day after the doctors appointment which was 3 days ago. It was all over my legs and thighs and also all over my arms. Now it has mostly cleared up and I cannot find any rash on my arms/hands and legs. It is only on my feet and a little bit higher where the sock line is. They are sparsely circular red dots. Thanks!
