Question: I think my whole family has the stomach flu, help please.?
My son is 11 months and has been sick for a week, he has had a cold and an ear infection. A few nights ago, he threw up in middle of the night and he did again the next night. He now has green liquid diarrhea for the past half of the day. He is currently on amoxicillin for his ear infection. He drank a bottle for bed and he hasn't had diarrhea or vomited yes so far though.
My fiance started to get symptoms early this morning. He was throwing up and had diarrhea. He still has it, but he has been feeling slightly better.
I ate breakfast this morning and then when i got to work i had diarrhea. I didn't eat anything all day. I got home made dinner and it all hit me. I have been vomiting at the same time sitting on the toilet. The last time, a few moments ago, I was lying on the floor over the trash can and I could feel the vomit moving up my chest and I think I passed out because I had a dream or something weird and then I woke up and basically dry heaved because there is nothing left in my stomach. Also the diarrhea is basically pure liquid now...Sorry for being so gross...it is what it is though.
I currently have really bad dry mouth and am sooo thirsty, but when i drank water, i threw it all up.
My question is how do I tell if we are dehydrated...my son, my fiance and myself.
Also, if we are dehydrated, what can we do to help and when are we supposed to take my son in to the hospital?

Answers:
Common symptoms of dehydration are extreme thirst, lightheadedness, and urine a brown color. I would take your son to the hospital ASAP, especially at that age and that he's been sick for a week.
