If you have black stools and you haven't eaten any oreos lately, then you need to see a doctor pronto. Internal bleeding may not be the cause, but it is a dire emergency that you get it checked out just to be certain.
Also: your period blood is usually bright or dark red and shows up on the toilet paper in that way. Try using a tampon and then see if your stool is still black. (although I hope you try this experiment *after* seeing a doctor) If it is, then it's coming from inside of you. There is no leaking between the vagina and the anus, so period blood can't "get in there" and discolor the feces.

No, your period does not in any way count as internal bleeding. Black stool occurs when you are bleeding internally and then digest the blood. This is very bad.
