why do i keep getting yeast infections?!

Question: Why do i keep getting yeast infections?
Kinda a gross subject...i know! But i keep getting them! There was a point for a good 4-5months i would get one the week before my period. Then it would go away, I went to the doctor and he told me to use casesten...i did and it does work but ive been doing some research and its not normal to get them this often! I was doing good and didnt have one for a while...then BANG...here we go again! I hope this doesnt start all over again... let alone the discomfort it puts a damper on my relationship....i dont want him thinking im dieseased! Im not...ive been tested...so that rules out any of those things.

Also i've had abnormal paps in the past and have had to go for biopsies of my cervix every 6months... Can anybody tell me WTF is going on up there?!?!

Answers:

First opf all: a lot of women get yeast infection after taking antibiotics. Antibiotics don't only kill the bad bacteria, they also kill the good bacteria---so every time you finish antibiotics, take probiotics. I used to take probiotics in the evening, antibiotics in the morning and if I had to take antibiotics twice daily I took the probiotics in between. It's best to take the probiotics several hours after taking antibiotics. Or, you can start eating yogurt since yogurt got plenty of good bacteria--that's actually also a good way to prevent yeast infections. A daily dose of yogurt that contains live and active cultures.
If you still get yeast infections after doing all that, then you might have yeast overgrowth--and that one is a difficult one to tackle because then you have to change your entire diet.....

As you say that you have a partner, I bet you keep getting reinfected when you are with him.

Men, as well as women, are carriers and can be suffers of yeast infections it can easily be passed back to each other.

Get both of yourselves treated as the same time and then hopefully, you will not suffer anymore.

Good luck.
