Why do the vertebrates of my spine stick out?!

Question: Why do the vertebrates of my spine stick out?
I'm not abnormally skinny or anything, but the vertebrates of my spine stick out, kind of like that of an anorexic. I'm at a pretty average weight for my height though, I don't see why my spine wouldn't look and feel like a normal persons'.
See this spine: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http…

You can't see all of my vertebrates like that, but you can see a few of them when I'm just standing normally (in my lower back) and when I hunch over you can see more of them and they all stick out more clearly. But what bothers me the most is that if you rub your hand up and down my back, you can feel them under your hand. It just feels really abnormal and nasty. But I'm not nearly as skinny as the person in the picture (thank god).

Does anyone have any idea why that might be? Is there any way I can make my vertebrates not stick out? Is there a surgery or something? Because I desperately want a normal spine! My spine has been abnormal like this pretty much my entire life. I didn't think much of it when I was younger, but as I began to realize that it's not normal, and some people started to make fun of me for how nasty it looks + feels, I've just wanted nothing more than a normal spine.

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!?

Answers:
