Question: What is the recovery time after brain surgery (to remove a tumor)?
Please give me a time period if possible. My doctor said he can't be sure. I'm 25 and I'm terrified of having my head cut open, but I know its necessary. I'm just pretty worried about what will happen after the surgery?

I read online just now, and it said some people usually take 3-8 weeks, depending on the person and the severity of the surgery. I really hope it all goes well. It has to be done. Goodluck and don't be afraid, people go through much worse. And I am sure you will have a lot of people there for you to help you out during the recovery time after the surgery!

The brain is a very complex organ and will not appreciate being disturbed. That said at your age the brain is also very resilient. You may recover rather quickly. It is also more plastic (will recreate itself and its functions) more quickly at your age.
I wont kid you brain surgery is serious but you are young and may recover well. A lot depends also on your personal attitude. If you think you can you more than likely will recover perhaps completely.
