Question: I went outside only in socks, and suddenly my feet stung; still in pain, there are splotches all over my feet?
I live in FL; I went barefoot outside to walk my dog real quick, and I figured it was okay to step out in the grass/weeds, but it felt like I stepped on a bunch of teeny tiny tacks or I had a million splinters. The pain is prickly, and there are red splotches on the top of my feet and white round ones like insect bites everywhere else on the undersides. I'm guessing I stepped on prickly weeds? My dog wasn't bothered. I ran cold and then hot water on my feet for a long time and then hobbled back inside to put peroxide on. How can I make the pain go away and should I be worried if this is something poisonous? I have a bunch of ants out in the yard, but I've never had anything like this; I even sat down right after my left foot flared up and nothing bit me. Does anybody know what the heck this is?

Sounds like you stood right on nettles or thistles. If you can, go out and try to find dock leaves in the grass, break them at the stem and rub the juice all over the stings it really works. You may have to google dock leaf to see exactly what it is. The other option is to pour vinegar over the affected are, you could soak a cooton bal in vinegar and keep dabbing it until it helps. Poor you! The dock leaf realy is the best treatment though. if you can see any tiny thin silver fibres sticking out of your skin get a tweezers and try take them out, a bath may help alos but try the dock leaf juice first.

soak them in warm water with sea salt. i have done the same thing with some prickly grass at my friends. it is just irritated. just soak it in salt and warm water. hope this helps don't worry about it

Nettles perhaps? Or fire ants?

Calamine lotion or benedryl may relieve the discomfort. If it persists a trip to the doctor may be advisable.
