What do you think about fluoride in drinking water?!

Question: What do you think about fluoride in drinking water?
I think that it is unnecessary if the only reason they add it is for dental health. We have toothpaste and mouthwash with fluoride for a reason and we don't swallow either of those. I think it is unhealthy and I avoid drinking it.
What do you think? Is dental health really the main concern here?

For kids it is OK as it is supposed to be good for their teeth but for adults there are no real benefits.

Too much fluoride in water can lead to brainwashing.

I think it should be completely outlawed. In fact did you know that...

The contents of a family size tube of fluoridated toothpaste is enough to kill a 25 pound child.

Fluorides are medically categorized as protoplasmic poisons, which is why they are used to kill rodents.

Fluoride consumption by human beings increases the general cancer death rate.

and as far as dental health goes...
1)Fluorides have little or no effect on decay prevention in humans.
2)There is no scientific data that shows that fluoride mouth rinses and tablets are safe for human use.

While there is some evidence linking fluoride to fewer cavities, there is substantial evidence - and some may say, even proof - that there are dangers to ingesting it. When ingested, some does get to the teeth, but it also propagates throughout our body.

One sign of over-exposure is dental fluorosis, which is a brownish stain of the tooth surface. Extremely high doses can cause skeletal fluorosis, which is a crippling deformation of the bones. In addition, studies are establishing connections between fluoride intake and numerous other health problems, including bone brittleness (fractures), pineal gland disfunction (effects hormones), thyroid function (fatigue), brain function, and even cancer. These problems are accentuated in people with poor kidney function where the kidneys don't do their usual job of removing much of the fluoride from the body system.

It's also important to consider that our tap water is not the only source of fluoride. Any food product that is processed with fluoridated water can potentially contain more fluoride. Fluroide has also been used as a pesticide, which causes it to concentrate on foods that we eat. Thankfully, the EPA recently began an effort to phase that out. Overall, however, we are virtually inundated with fluoride from multiple sources, and it's basically inescapable in the U.S.

Speaking of government agencies, the FDA also recently lowered the maximum amount of fluoride allowed in tap water out of concern for its health effects.

If you believe that it can help prevent cavities, it's probably best to limit exposure to topical use - toothpaste, rinses, etc. These products use pharmaceutical grade sodium fluoride, unlike the tap water version, which is a waste byproduct of phosphate fertilizer production (really, I am not kidding about that.

You can learn much more on the links below, where you'll find a wealth of information about its safety, effectiveness, and the ethics of mass medicating the majority of the American public using the water supply.

It's strange how in our dental health that we shouldn't swallow our toothpaste or our mouthwash yet we are drinking water that also has fluoride built in inside of them. I thought the whole point of dental hygiene is to brush 2 times a day and use mouthwash, along with flossing and visiting your dentist regularly. Now the fact that they are placing fluoride in our drinking water, it doesn't make no sense! It may be pretty tasteless, but at least i can tell some difference between flouridic water and normal spring/tap water. This could be dangerous to our health!

Agree with you. That could be dangerous
