I found out my boyfriend is a recovering meth addict....?!

Question: I found out my boyfriend is a recovering meth addict....?
He was keeping it a secret from me- and he doesn't know that I know. I got a phone call from his sister that was checking up on him and wanted to know if he still went to NA meetings. Apparently he's has been clean for 14 months, (i've only known him for about 7 months) but i don't know how to feel about this!
Should i tell him i know? or should i just let it go? I really never anticipated this, he is 25, very smart and has a good job and i love him. but that was such a big part of his past- he was an addict for over 5 years!
I hear that meth addicts often relapse, but i don't know how i would deal with something like that? i need some help or advice or something.

also it doesn't look like he is having any symptoms of relapsing, but i am just concerned, and i dont think he goes to meetings anymore- but i wont really know unless i ask him right?

Answers:

At least he's trying. And even if he was to relaspe, you and him can get through it together. thats what love is. he will tell you when ready, but if you think he is in danger, calmly sit him down and talk. it will be ok.

Ya, don't bring it up, you could wind up messing things up for his sister. He wants it kept a secret, best to just let it be, or it could cause a relapse.

Look he's trying to get clean so just trust him. Be there for him and support him and don't doubt him. Your probably one of the reasons why he's cleaned up his act and if you doubt him it may make him relaps

Don't tell him. Let it play out & it sounds like he's okay now.

Try not to bring it up...he'll tell you when he's ready.
